cinnamon waffle

Growing up waffles were something I did with my grand-parents, at the weekend as a treat or ate at the fair ground. Nowadays, as a health conscious foodie mum I like to play around with so called indulgent, cheeky treats and tweak them! Still treats, but rid of the refined sugars and packed with nourishing goodness and flavours. These cinnamon waffles are just that.

potato & spinach waffle

So...I may have bought a new foodie gadget, and I may be having way too much fun with it! So I am now sharing the outcome of my very first waffle creation and certainly not the last!
The best thing about this one< in addition to containing greens, is that I am using mashed potato. So so simple, could be a leftover in your fridge, and you will have a fab breakfast or delicious lunchbox item!

salmon & dill rillettes

Once again we are back with a very simple, quick and versatile recipe. To be enjoyed all year round, it is a fantastic prepped in advance lunch box item which can also be served chilled to accompany evening drinks or as a starter for your next dinner party. Salmon and dill is such a deliciously fresh classic combination.

avocado and mango salad

This colourful salad is perfect for lunch on a summer's day. It's ideal to serve on its own, but can also be served alongside a BBQ on a summer's day. It's very quick and easy to prepare leaving you more time to spend outside. I'm not usually that keen on adding fruit to a salad, but trust me – this really works!

courgette & mint fritters

If you grow your own vegetables then you will need lots of recipes to use up the courgette glut that is inevitable! Even if you don't grow courgettes this summery recipe is a great way to combine the delicious summery flavours of courgette, mint and pea. Serve with a simple salad and a yoghurt and cucumber, mint dip for an easy lunch.

rainbow salad

Did you say green salad? Why stop at green? Although green is THE compulsory colour on our plates at all times, we love a rainbow. With mixed elements of raw and roasted vegetables, it will accompany your summer barbecues perfectly and provide a useful nutrient dense and balanced option for your vegetarian friends.

peachy smoothie

Smoothies are the easiest, quickest and most versatile way to manage a nutrient rich balanced healthy diet. Packed full of seasonal ingredients they have become our best friends.
This new smoothie is sunshine on tap and nice little health boost for a peachy smooth skin.

matcha & mint energy bars

Healthy energy snacks are an every day necessity in our house. As a busy working active mum of two sporty energetic kids, even with all the organisation in the world, refuelling sometime has to happen in the car between school and evening activities, for them and for me! So I have become quite creative with my flavours to keep things fun. With mint in abundance in my garden, I was inspired.

Puy lentils with chorizo and Dijon mustard

These French Puy Lentils are a staple in my house just as they were in my Grand mother's kitchen in Burgundy growing up. Quick and easy to prepare, they don't need to soak and cook in just 20 minutes. They are a great protein packed alternative to meat, rice or potatoes and are incredibly versatile, enjoyed hot or cold as a base for a salad. Chorizo and Dijon mustard is our favourite way to cook them, but get creative with them and enjoy!

wild rice salad

Wild rice makes a gorgeous looking salad, perfect for a weekend lunch or part of a buffet or barbecue spread. If eating on its own then try adding some feta cheese, sardines or wild salmon for some added protein. It's also a great salad to take into work or as part of a picnic.

asparagus & feta frittata

When you love asparagus, the season is not really long enough, so I really try and come up with new recipes to include them at least a couple of times a week. This new recipe could very quickly become a seasonal staple for my family. It is quick to prepare, nutritionally balanced, can be adapted, can be eaten hot or cold, makes a perfect picnic or lunchbox item and when cut into squares it's a great finger food for the younger ones. What are you waiting for?

French black olive summer tapenade

As days get longer and the summer approaches, not fast enough may I add, we start longing for relaxed alfresco eating ideas. What better than to look at classic Mediterranean dips and starters? One of my favourites from childhood summers spent on the French Riviera is Tapenade. It's so easy to make...

smoked mackerel pâté

We love to keep things simple, healthy and delicious so here we go: what we give you here is a 2 or maybe 3 ingredients only, quick & easy recipe. Your perfect go to recipe for entertaining all year round and keep your guests happy before dinner. This also makes a brilliant lunchbox item for kids and grown-ups alike with flat breads or raw veggie sticks.

banana & date bread

We've had to do a lot of testing, and then obviously eating, to get this banana bread right. We were determined to make a banana bread with zero refined sugar – not even maple syrup or honey. We used only naturally sweet bananas and dates to sweeten. All five THB children declared it a winner, which we can tell you is a hard task indeed!

sunny spring smoothie

Inspired by nature. Spring is on everyone's mind the minute the golden daffodils appear in gardens and across the countryside in the UK, and it also inspired this mango smoothie. Although not grown in this country, and always imported, mango is available all year round and is a great staple fruit to keep in your freezer alongside frozen berries ans frozen spinach.

chicken dippers

These chicken strips make a perfect Saturday lunch with salad or stuffed into wraps or pitta bread with guacamole or hummus. Can also be eaten cold for picnics or packed lunches.

crispy granola chicken fillets

Have you come across Pop Corn Chicken before?
Well, let us introduce you to a much healthier, equally fun and delicious way to enjoy chicken at home or on the go. These smoky chicken bites are delicious warm, served with a side salad or a sweet potato fries and some greens, of course. Perfect for lunch boxes and summer picnics.

carrot, apple & ginger flapjacks

These flapjacks were inspired by my daughter’s love of carrot, apple and ginger juice. The carrot and apple make them naturally sweet so there’s no refined sugar in these flapjacks, although I have used some maple syrup to sweeten further. We always try and add vegetables to as many of our dishes as possible and these flapjacks are a perfect example. Perfect for summer picnics or after school treats.
